Abstract

This study aims to examine how the decision-making process in secondary school leadership is carried out based on values, courage to take risks, and accountability. The background of this study is the importance of understanding moral-based leadership practices amidst limited resources, especially in rural schools. The study was conducted at MA Nurul Qadim using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five informants, direct observation, and documentation analysis. The results of the study indicate that decision-making at MA Nurul Qadim is based on the values of honesty, justice, and spirituality. the courage to take risks gradually in situations of limitation; and accountability that is realized through open and participatory communication. These findings imply that school leadership based on values and social responsibility can still be carried out effectively even in structural limitations. This study also opens up opportunities for the development of adaptive contextual leadership models in other schools with similar conditions.
