PENAFSIRAN AḤMAD MUṢṬAFĀ AL-MARĀGHĪ ATAS QS. AL-ḌUḤĀ: ANALISIS HERMENEUTIK TAFSIR MODERN BERBASIS PENDEKATAN ADABĪ–IJTIMAʿĪ

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Aḥmad Muṣṭafā al-Marāghī’s interpretation of Sūrat al-Ḍuḥā and to examine its hermeneutical significance within the development of modern Qur’anic exegesis. The research focuses on the structure of interpretation, the hermeneutical approach employed, and the epistemological contribution of Tafsīr al-Marāghī. This study adopts a qualitative library-based method using content analysis of al-Marāghī’s commentary on Sūrat al-Ḍuḥā, supported by classical tafsīr works and reputable scholarly articles published over the last five years. The findings indicate that al-Marāghī interprets Sūrat al-Ḍuḥā as a pedagogical narrative that integrates psychological reassurance of the Prophet, spiritual affirmation, and social ethics. This interpretation reflects the adabī-ijtimaʿī paradigm, presenting the Qur’an as both a normative and transformative text. This study contributes to thematic tafsīr studies and offers a relevant framework for interpreting Makkan sūrahs in contemporary Qur’anic scholarship.
