Efektivitas Kegiatan Calistung dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Dasar Anak Usia 6-8 Tahun di Kelurahan Bendung

Early childhood, especially between the ages of 6-8, is a crucial phase in a child's cognitive and language development, where the ability to think, communicate, and understand basic symbols such as letters and numbers develops rapidly. Basic education at this age is crucial to prepare children for the learning process at a later stage. One method used to support the growth of children's basic skills is through Calistung (Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic) activities, namely reading, writing, and arithmetic, which are systematically and fun designed according to the child's developmental stage. This study aims to assess the success of the Calistung program in improving the basic skills of children aged 6-8 years in Bendung Village, Kasemen District, Serang City. By considering the socio-economic background of the local community, this study evaluates the contribution of Calistung activities to the achievement of basic literacy and numeracy skills, as well as their influence on children's readiness for formal learning. The results of the study are expected to provide suggestions in the development of more efficient and appropriate Calistung learning strategies, according to the characteristics of early childhood in the local environment. This activity was attended by 30 participants, 12 boys and 18 girls. This discovery is expected to support improving the quality of basic education in Bendung Village and other areas facing similar challenges.
