This study aims to examine the effectiveness of applying the Role Playing learning model to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at UPT SD Negeri 066044 Medan Helvetia. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 30 fifth-grade students participating in the learning process using the Role Playing model. Data collection instruments included learning outcome tests and observation sheets for student and teacher activities. The results showed a significant increase in the average student scores from 64.5 in the pre-cycle to 73.2 in cycle I, and reaching 82.5 in cycle II. Moreover, the percentage of students meeting the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM) also increased from 30% in the pre-cycle to 86.7% in cycle II. The implementation of the Role Playing model also enhanced student participation, learning motivation, and communication skills during the learning process. Thus, the Role Playing learning model is effective for improving student learning outcomes in the IPAS subject at the elementary school level. This study recommends that teachers frequently apply the Role Playing model as an alternative instructional strategy to create active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environments.
