PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS IV SD PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DI UPT SD 066044 MEDAN HELVETIA

This study aims to improve students' learning achievement in Mathematics subjects by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in class IV of UPT SD 066044 Medan Helvetia. The underlying problem of this study is the low learning achievement of students in understanding fraction material. This study adopts the Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model which is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning steps, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study involved 24 students. Data collection methods were carried out using learning tests, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicated that the average student score increased from 62.5 in the pre-cycle to 73.7 in cycle I, then increased again to 83.3 in cycle II. The percentage of student learning completion also showed an increase from 41.6% in the pre-cycle to 70.8% in cycle I, which then reached 91.6% in cycle II. In addition to improving learning outcomes, student activity and involvement in the learning process also experienced significant progress. Therefore, the application of the Problem Based Learning model has proven effective in improving student learning achievement and participation in Mathematics subjects.
