PELAYANAN PENDIDIKAN ANAK AUTIS DI SLB SARONGGI KAB. SUMENEP

This study aims to analyze educational services for autistic children at SLB Negeri Saronggi, Sumenep Regency. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, the study was conducted in February 2025 with research subjects of teachers who were directly involved in the education of autistic students. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that SLB Negeri Saronggi implements a comprehensive admission and assessment process to identify the specific needs of autistic students. The school develops a curriculum tailored to the individual abilities of students, using the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method with a ratio of two teachers to one student. Special learning media such as autism table and chair sets and audio-visual media are used to facilitate learning. The therapy programs implemented include ABA therapy, acupressure, and behavioral therapy. Handling tantrum behavior is carried out with a personal approach based on an understanding of the characteristics and preferences of each student. Despite facing limited resources, SLB Negeri Saronggi has succeeded in creating a supportive educational environment for autistic students to develop their potential through a comprehensive, personal, and strength-based approach.
