Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Field Experience Practice (PPL) in improving the pedagogical competence of education students at SMA NU and to identify the factors influencing its success. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The subjects of the study were student teachers, supervising teachers, and field supervisors. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of PPL improved students’ pedagogical competence, especially in lesson planning and teaching practice. However, students still faced difficulties in classroom management, time management, and the use of varied learning methods. The success of the program was influenced by the quality of mentoring, institutional planning, and the school environment. Therefore, PPL plays an important role in preparing professional and adaptive future teachers.
