Abstract

The transformation of education in the 21st century requires the integration of digital technology to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools. However, classroom learning is still often dominated by conventional teaching methods, resulting in limited student engagement and shallow conceptual understanding. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing deep learning-based instruction supported by Smart TV Merah Putih conducted by student teachers during the Teaching Practicum Program (PPL) in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants consisted of 30 fifth-grade students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, a Likert-scale learning motivation questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Data analysis included descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, and an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the experimental group obtained a higher posttest mean score (82.40) compared to the control group (71.30) with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The effect size value of 1.84 indicates a very large effect. Therefore, the implementation of deep learning supported by Smart TV Merah Putih effectively improves students’ motivation and learning outcomes while creating a more interactive and meaningful learning environment
