The development of discipline in performing prayer is an essential part of religious character education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This study aims to describe the role of homeroom teachers in fostering students’ discipline in performing prayer and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that homeroom teachers play significant roles as role models, mentors, supervisors, and motivators in cultivating students’ discipline in performing prayer. Supporting factors include a religious school environment and parental support, while inhibiting factors consist of students’ unstable internal motivation and external environmental influences. The study concludes that the role of homeroom teachers is highly strategic in instilling discipline in performing prayer as part of students’ religious character development.
