ANALISIS PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH ORGANIK RUMAH TANGGA BERBASIS KOMPOSTING SEDERHANA DI LINGKUNGAN PERUMAHAN

Household organic waste management is a major challenge in reducing waste volume in residential areas. Most household waste consists of food scraps and kitchen waste, which have the potential to be recycled through simple composting. This study aims to utilize simple composting-based household organic waste management in residential areas. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with primary data sources obtained through direct observation and interviews with residents in the residential area. The results indicate that the implementation of simple composting can reduce the volume of household organic waste, increase awareness and participation in community waste management, and produce compost that can be used for garden plants. However, the implementation of composting still faces several obstacles, including limited knowledge, time, and consistency in sorting and processing organic waste. Therefore, ongoing education and mentoring are needed to ensure optimal and sustainable implementation of simple composting-based organic waste management in residential areas.
