Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which transformational leadership influences teachers’ work motivation at MA Darunnajah Cipining. Transformational leadership is recognized as a leadership approach that inspires and encourages subordinates to exceed expected performance, while teacher motivation plays a vital role in improving educational quality. The research employed a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires. The study population included all teachers at MA Darunnajah Cipining, and a saturated or purposive sampling technique was applied to obtain a sample of 30 teachers. The research instrument, in the form of a questionnaire, was tested for validity and reliability. Transformational leadership variables were assessed through indicators such as Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, Individualized Consideration, Consensus and Collaboration Building, as well as Awareness of Values and Goals. Teacher work motivation was measured through indicators including Achievement, Recognition, Responsibility, and Self-Development. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results revealed that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher work motivation at MA Darunnajah Cipining. This is supported by the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.918, indicating that transformational leadership explains 84.3% of the variance in teacher motivation. Furthermore, the t-test value of 12.250, which exceeds the critical value of 2.042, with a significance level below 0.05, confirms that the research hypothesis is accepted. Overall, the findings highlight the crucial role of transformational leadership in enhancing teacher motivation, which in turn contributes to improving the overall quality of education in the institution.
