Mewujudkan Green Konstitusi: Kajian Interdisipliner dalam Perspektif Hukum, Politik, dan Sosial

Abstract

The urgency of environmental degradation and climate crisis has prompted constitutional frameworks around the world to integrate environmental protection as a fundamental right and obligation. This article examines the concept of a Green Constitution as an interdisciplinary approach that merges legal, political, and social dimensions in formulating sustainable governance. The objective of this research is to analyze how constitutional principles in Indonesia can be reoriented to incorporate ecological justice and sustainability through normative and policy instruments. The study employs a normative-juridical method with a multidisciplinary lens, supported by secondary data from literature, legislation, and constitutional practices in other countries. The results demonstrate that while Indonesia's 1945 Constitution implicitly recognizes environmental rights, the implementation remains fragmented and lacks ecological coherence. Political will and legal reform are essential to mainstream sustainability principles into constitutional mandates. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a paradigm shift toward environmental constitutionalism to ensure intergenerational equity and the long-term survival of ecological systems.
