Antara Realitas Sosial dan Ajaran Islam: Membedah Novel Tuhan Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur (Perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Hadis)

Abstract

This article examines the controversial novel God, Allow Me to Be a Prostitute (TIAMP) by Muhidin M. Dahlan from the perspective of the Koran and hadith. This novel depicts spiritual struggles, criticism of religious understanding, and challenges to Islamic values in the midst of modernity. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive-analytical method, this article discusses moral issues, social criticism, and the phenomenon of religious deviation raised in this novel, which are then analyzed using Islamic values. The social criticism in this novel focuses on the attitudes of religious groups which are considered exclusive and intolerant. This causes deep disappointment in the main character, Nidah Kirana, towards her environment. The Qur'an and hadith teach the importance of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar as an effort to build a just and balanced society. QS verse. Ali 'Imran: 104 and the Prophet's hadith regarding amar ma'ruf provide the basis that constructive social criticism is not only permissible, but also necessary to improve society. Apart from that, this article discusses Nidah Kirana's moral and religious struggles as a reflection of the spiritual conflicts experienced by individuals in modern society. In Islam, the process of seeking guidance often goes through inner struggle, as reflected in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad about the importance of repentance for humans. This novel underlines the need for a humanist approach to preaching based on love, not punishment, to answer the spiritual challenges faced by the people. This article also reviews the phenomenon of religious deviation which is criticized in the novel, where certain religious practices are considered to distort Islamic teachings for certain interests. This phenomenon is highlighted in QS. Al-Baqarah: 79, which condemns the manipulation of religious teachings for personal gain. This novel depicts individual disappointment with religion as a result of this deviation. Through this analysis, the article concludes that the novel God, Allow Me to Be a Prostitute (TIAMP) reflects social realities that challenge Islamic values due to a crisis of faith and religious deviation. The perspective of the Qur'an and hadith provides a guide to understanding this phenomenon more wisely. The social criticism and spiritual struggles raised by this novel are not taboo subjects in Islam, but are opportunities for introspection and improvement. Thus, this article emphasizes the importance of more inclusive da'wah and noble morals in facing modernity's challenges to Islamic values.
