Pernikahan Sedarah Dalam Q.S An-Nisa’ Ayat 23: Persepektif I‘Jāz Ṭibbī Karya Dr. Sayyid Al-Jumaili Dan Genetika Modern.

Abstract

The prohibition of consanguineous marriage is explicitly stated in the Qur’an, particularly in Surah An-Nisa’ verse 23. This prohibition carries not only moral and social implications but also significant medical concerns. This article aims to explore the meaning of this verse through the lens of i‘jāz ṭibbī (medical inimitability) as interpreted by Dr. Sayyid al-Jumaili, and to examine its relevance to modern genetic findings. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study integrates thematic Qur’anic exegesis with contemporary scientific insights. Data were obtained from primary sources such as the Qur’an and classical-contemporary tafsir works, along with scientific literature in the fields of medicine and genetics. The findings reveal that the prohibition of marriage among close relatives is supported by strong scientific evidence, particularly regarding the increased risk of genetic disorders and hereditary diseases. Dr. al-Jumaili’s approach underscores that Islamic legal prescriptions are in harmony with modern biological principles of prevention. This study highlights the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in understanding the deeper wisdom and scientific aspects embedded in the Qur’anic text.
