Abstract

Accreditation is an important indicator in assessing the quality of an educational institution, including madrasas. School principals as education leaders have a strategic role in designing and implementing various policies oriented towards achieving accreditation. This study aims to describe the principal's leadership strategy in increasing accreditation achievement at MTs Negeri 3 Situbondo. The approach used is qualitative descriptive with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The results of the study show that the head of MTs Negeri 3 Situbondo implements various strategies such as strategic planning based on self-evaluation, strengthening school management, sustainable development of teacher and staff competencies, as well as the use of data and continuous evaluation. Supporting factors in the implementation of the strategy include the commitment of school residents, committee support, and the use of technology. Meanwhile, obstacles faced include budget constraints, resistance to change, and administrative burdens. In conclusion, the leadership strategy of school principals contributes significantly to increasing madrasah accreditation. Collaborative, adaptive, and data-driven leadership models have proven to be effective in driving quality improvement in a systematic and sustainable manner.
