Abstract

Pelempang Village in Kelekar District has abundant pineapple production; however, its utilization is still limited to the sale of fresh fruit with relatively low economic value and fluctuating prices. The skill development program for pineapple dodol production was implemented as a community empowerment initiative to increase the added value of local commodities. This program applied the Design–Implementation–Evaluation (DIE) approach, consisting of planning, practical training implementation, and activity evaluation stages. The training was conducted on January 31, 2026, involving approximately 30 participants, including women and village youth. The activities covered preparation of tools and materials, theoretical explanation, hands-on practice of pineapple dodol production, and evaluation of participants’ skills. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ knowledge and technical skills in processing pineapple into dodol with proper texture and taste standards. The high enthusiasm and active participation demonstrated the potential for developing home-based agroindustry businesses. This program contributed to raising community awareness regarding agricultural product diversification as a strategy for strengthening the village economy. Further assistance in packaging, branding, and marketing is necessary to develop pineapple dodol into a sustainable flagship product of Pelempang Village
