Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the problems experienced by many high school students, namely the difficulty in determining extracurricular activities that best suit their interests, talents, and personal development plans. The inability to make appropriate decisions often leads to decreased motivation, mismatch between activities and personal potential, and suboptimal student achievement. Therefore, systematic assistance is needed to help students understand the key factors in selecting extracurricular activities through a structured decision-making approach. The implementation method begins with socialization, interest and talent assessment, introduction to basic decision-making techniques, and guiding students in analyzing extracurricular alternatives based on their personal preferences. A participatory approach is used to ensure active student involvement in the decision-making process, resulting in more objective outcomes that align with their needs. Data were obtained through observation, short interviews, and simple assessment instruments. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of the criteria for selecting extracurricular activities and their ability to identify the most appropriate choices based on self-analysis. This activity is important because it helps students make more mature, well-directed decisions that support their academic and non-academic development in a sustainable manner.
