Abstract

Early childhood is considered a golden age, a period of rapid physical and mental growth and development. During this time, crucial foundations for all aspects of a child's development, including cognitive, language, social-emotional, and motor skills, are laid. The quality of stimulation and the environment provided by parents or caregivers play a central role in optimizing a child's developmental potential. However, many parents still do not fully understand and implement positive parenting styles, which can potentially hinder a child's growth. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding and skills of parents in Pematang Kandis Urban Village, Bangko City, regarding the importance of positive parenting in fostering early childhood development.

The method used is an educational approach combined with interactive workshops. In the first stage, we provided education on the basic concepts of positive parenting, its impact on children, and the differences from traditional parenting styles. The second stage involved practical workshops where participants were invited to engage in simulations and case study discussions related to applying positive parenting in daily life. Evaluation was conducted through pre and post-activity questionnaires to measure the increase in participants' knowledge.

The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of positive parenting. Participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm and commitment to implementing better parenting practices. This activity is expected to serve as a model for empowering other communities in improving parenting quality and creating an environment conducive to optimal child growth and development.
