Abstract

This community service aims to empower majelis taklim (Islamic study groups) in optimizing the role of parents as facilitators of religious education in RT 36, Kenali Besar Sub-district, Jambi City. The problem underlying this activity is the suboptimal involvement of parents in guiding their children's Islamic religious education within the family environment, as well as the untapped potential of majelis taklim as an educational hub. The methods used in this service include interactive training, mentoring, and group discussions with majelis taklim members and parent representatives. Training materials covered effective and enjoyable home-based religious teaching strategies, age-appropriate religious content selection, and the use of simple educational media. The results indicate a significant increase in parents' understanding and confidence in facilitating religious education for their children. Majelis taklim members also demonstrated initiatives to develop sustainable programs that support parental roles. This activity successfully created a positive synergy between majelis taklim and families, with the hope of fostering a more religious and morally upright younger generation in RT 36.
