Abstract

The socialization of using plant-based insecticides made from garlic was conducted to provide an environmentally friendly pest control alternative for cocoa farmers in Pejalin Village. The main issue faced was the farmers' dependency on chemical insecticides, which not only have adverse effects on human health but also damage the ecosystem and surrounding environment. The method used in this activity was direct socialization at the Pejalin Village Hall, which included a presentation on the importance of using plant-based insecticides, interactive discussions, and a demonstration of how to make garlic insecticide solution. The event was attended by local farmers with the aim of increasing their knowledge about natural and environmentally friendly pest control. The results of the socialization showed an interest from some participants in trying to use plant-based insecticides, although overall participation was still low. This indicates that, while there is awareness, further efforts are needed to enhance understanding and practical application of this method in the field. It is hoped that this activity can be continued with a more practical approach and greater involvement of farmers to optimally introduce and utilize plant-based insecticides as a sustainable alternative solution.
