Abstract

This research examines the role of reciting Asmaul Husna prayers in shaping the religious character of students at Nahdotul Uqul Kilangan Junior High School. The background of this study is the essentiality of instilling religious values from an early age, especially amidst the moral and spiritual challenges faced by the younger generation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study design, data was collected through participatory observation of routine Asmaul Husna activities, in-depth interviews with religious teachers, the principal, and several students, as well as documentation related to religious activities at the school.

The findings indicate that the habitual recitation of Asmaul Husna prayers significantly contributes to the internalization of values such as faith, obedience, patience, honesty, and gratitude in students. This activity not only strengthens the individual's spiritual dimension but also creates a conducive religious atmosphere within the school environment, and enhances students' awareness of divine values in their daily lives. The implications of these findings affirm that the integration of structured religious activities, such as Asmaul Husna recitation, is an effective strategy for strengthening the foundation of students' religious character. This research recommends that schools continue to optimize similar religious practices as an integral part of character education.
