Integrasi Asesmen Autentik Dalam Pembelajaran Sastra : Meningkatkan Kesadaran Lingkungan Melalui Prosa Fiksi Pesut Mahakam

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of authentic assessment through group work and peer review approaches in literature learning, particularly in the fictional story Pesut Mahakam. The findings indicate that this approach successfully enhances students' understanding of literary elements such as character, setting, and moral messages, while also encouraging critical thinking and empathy toward social issues, especially environmental preservation. Most students were able to identify the main characters and setting accurately and grasp the moral message about the importance of protecting nature. However, understanding of the social critique within the story varied, indicating a need for further development of students' critical thinking skills. Additionally, the peer review process contributed to the development of students’ social skills, such as providing constructive feedback and respecting others' work. Overall, authentic assessment has proven effective in creating more meaningful literature learning experiences and can serve as a model for teaching literature at the secondary school level.
